It's a big long name: East Kootenay Organization for Human Dignity and Equality - EKOHDE. Youth in the East Kootenay helped choose this name when a college student hired by EKOHDE interviewed people about the words that best expressed their ideas about human rights. They chose HUMAN DIGNITY, and one more: EQUALITY. So that's the name. We're sponsored by the government and not connected with any other group, political or otherwise.
So, what's the cool stuff? Well, you choose it. There's the BUZZ -- multimedia honey, posters and audios you buzz in on or send in. Click here for the poster project. And there's the KEYBOARD -- play the piano to all the rights, and key into poster ideas, and may be later on a poster or an audio. There's the LINGO -- or should I say linko -- millions of links, human rights links, youth health projects links, Canada in the UN links, youth work links. And there's the CROAK -- talk "environment," think "earth" and find youth ecology or science projects links. Finally, there's the BELLOW. Hear everything on human rights, on youth and the United Nations, your rights, youth projects. AND, you blast this one if you've got a question that's screaming to be asked or to look at those youth who are blasting to the finish line. Seriously, though, there's also an ALARM to sound if you're a victim of prejudice: if you've been intimidated, bullied, targeted, stereotyped, terrorized, threatened, assaulted, refused work, or had your property vandalized solely because of your beliefs or physical attributes.
